This years match up for the World Series will be jam packed with excitement and power struggles. The Phillies and Yankees are sure to put on one hell of show and the fans will be right there, to cheer them along. This will be the first World Series appearance for the Yankees in five years, but the Phillies hope to make this a ongoing appearance and continue taking home the title, just as they did last year. The 2009 MLB season started off with both teams being favored to have quite the season, which proofed to be the case game after game. From the beginning of the season, both teams were wire to wire and seemed to be the favored all along, to make it to the World Series. During the playoffs, at no time did either team appear to be in jeopardy of being bumped out of the playoffs.

Making it to the World Series is a dream come true for every MLB player, and having the chance to do it more than once, is indescribable. Johnny Damon, Yankees leftfielder, stated, "I think this is just what baseball needed.You have the two best teams out there. You have the defending champions, and you have the team that has won more championships than anybody. So I think this is perfect for baseball. It's definitely a special World Series."

Although both teams agree that the starting pitcher will pave the path of the game, both lineups could very well change the course of the game at any time. Both teams had at least 7 players who hit 20 home runs or better, which will undoubtedly make for one amazing ball game after another. Both teams come from cities that are large and in charge and not afraid to show their support. Baseball fans sometimes tend to be more serious than other sports fans and when it comes to a World Series event, it's no holds bard, Hopefully, the fans will have enough respect for the players, and for the game for that matter, to keep it civil and cheer their teams on in a respectful manner. In the past, results of games have led to inappropriate behavior, not only from the players, but from the people in the stands. Some fans take the game very seriously and the slightest sign of disrespect towards them and their team, can very well lead to out of hand altercations. Seeing is how this game is one that is sure to bring excitement, we can only hope for a good series of games and a fun view from the stands.
