We just can't seem to get enough of the prime time comedies and this years Emmy nominations for Best Actor in a comedy series will be a tight race. Almost every night of the week, you can find hours worth of nighttime comedy and picking just one can be somewhat of a tough task. Every year we see a line up of new series set to air, some which never make it to a second episode. But the ones that do succeed, succeed for a reason. If you have noticed the past few years have given us some real knee slapping comedies that we get to enjoy week after week. When you really think about it, at the end of the day, most people would much rather laugh than cry and we have the actors of the current running comedy series to thank for that.
Jim Parsons of the Big Bang Theory, could not be more perfect for the part of a nerdy scientist. Whether it is just the skill of a talented actor, or maybe the fact that deep down inside he is a nerd at heart, either way you look at it, that is one show that will keep you on the floor laughing, even after the conclusion of the thirty minute episode.
Then we have Mr. Charlie Sheen. Charlie Sheen gives a whole new meaning to the word womanizer, but he manages to deliver it in a comical way that is somewhat forgiving. The cast of Two and a Half Men all have a hand in making that show as successful as it is, but most will agree that Charlie's character gives the show a boost of humor.
The Office is one comedy that hits home for most Americans. If you yourself are a working American, you can probably relate to at least one character on The Office. Maybe that's why the show has such an appeal to it, it is one of the comedies that people can relate to. Average people, in an average work environment, makes for pretty comical situations and Steve Carell brings that to life, week after week.
