Hells Kitchen Heats Up for Final 5 Contestants

Hells Kitchen is really heating up and the chef Ramsey has really lit a fire under the ass of the remaining 5 contestants. This week, the rules of the game changed quite a bit. These so called "chefs", have had several challenges and 11 dinner service now, and chef Ramsey expects the mistakes to be minimal now. In the challenge this week, both teams were to create 3 entrees using specific ingredients from the region in which the winners restaurants was located, and the challenge proved to be to much for some. The red team, presented, what they thought was a rack of lamb, and when questioned, 2 of the 3 were shocked to learn that the piece of meat was venison.

Team participation is hard to come by these days and it is really every man for themselves in Hells Kitchen. It seems as if the aspiring chefs have realized that this is a composition and that chef Ramsey is looking for the best of the best. The winners of this weeks competition got to visit a local restaurant, where last seasons winner was there to answer questions and give a little insight as to how her life has changed since the show and winning the opportunity to be head chef at one of Ramsey's restaurants.

While the winning team enjoyed a nice evening dining out, the remaining chefs were left to clean the kitchen and prep for the next dinner service. It seems as though no one was prepared for what that night had in store. Both teams were required to create their own menus, with each member of the team having some type of input. The blue team seemed to work quite well in developing their menu, where as the red team was lacking flexibility in every aspect. Although the red team agreed on almost nothing, they still managed to bring something to the table. Chef Ramsey had suggestions for both sides and wished them luck on presenting their menus to Hells Kitchen.

Dinner service was a disaster, to say the least. Raw meat, burnt lettuce, and an all around catastrophe in the kitchen, caused chef Ramsey to have to actually leave the kitchen in order to save himself from having a melt down. One mistake after another from each and every competitor pushed chef Ramsey over the edge. He and Scott took a few moments to discus what the next plan of action would be and then chef Ramsey returned to shut the kitchen down.
