New York football Giants are a 3 Point Underdog on the Road in Chicago

NFL News - August 22nd, 2009 - Written by Ryan Smith

The NFL season is still three weeks away, but tonight, NFL football fans will get a chance to see 10 separate NFL preseason games. BetUS, one of the worlds most used online sportsbooks, has released odds on all 10 games scheduled for Saturday night. One of the most anticipated games of the weekend is the match up between the New York Giants and Chicago Bears, in Chicago. The New York Giants are a 3 point underdog on the road in this game, and the home team Bears are a 3 point favorite. Bodog has the Over and Under line set at 35 points, and both of these teams finished their first preseason games with a combined score of over 40 points.

The New York Giants get their first game on the road tonight in week 2 of the NFL preseason. The Giants got their fist preseason game at home against the Carolina Panthers, and used the home field to their advantage winning the game with a final score 24-17. Eli Manning did not see the football field to much in that game, but the Giants first team offense should play a large role in the game tonight. What to look for? The Giants running attack. The Giants depend on their running game to move the ball down field, and starting running back Brandon Jacobs, moves the ball all right. This off season the Giants did not resign back up running back Derrick Ward, Ward had the second most rushing yards on the team in 2008. This year Ahmad Bradshaw will be the lead back up for the New York football Giants, and he will have to prove he is capable. Bradshaw played in the first preseason game, he carried the ball 5 times for 35 yards for an average of 7 yards a carry. The Giants will need this type of production form Bradshaw in order to win tonight.

The Chicago Bears played their first game of the 2009 NFL preseason on the road at Buffalo, and lost to the Bills with a final score of 27- 20. The Bears are still trying to incorporate new quarterback Jay Cutler into the offensive system early and often. What to look for? The Bears passing game. The Bears have not had a top 10 quarterback in a number of years, so this season they went out on a limb and traded for the young Jay Cutler. In the first preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, Cutler completed 5 passes out of 10 attempts for 64 yards, and threw 1 interception with no touch downs. In tonight's game against the Giants, Cutler will play for the majority of the first half, and his quarterback abilities will be put to the test against the Giants defense. The Bears will have to run the ball with Matt Forte more often in order to open up the passing game for Jay Cutler. Again this is one of the most anticipated games of the entire weekend of NFL preseason football, so get your wagers in early.
