NFL News - July 1, 2009 - Written by Jimmy
It appears as though there might be light at the end of the tunnel, concerning Brett Favre's possible return to the NFL. Speculators believe that the announcement of whether or not Favre will return, as a Minnesota Viking, will come at the beginning of the Week of July 6th.
Many believe that this move will coincide with the Minnesota Vikings beginning single game ticket sales on July 9th. In 2008, the Minnesota Vikings struggled to sell out home games, let alone season ticket packages. Zygi Wilf, Vikings Owner, is sure to make a push for Favre, as it would surely mean that team ticket sales, along with team revenues, would increase.
It seems as though every thing is in place for Favre to make this announcement. Now that Brad Childress, Vikings Head Coach, has just returned to the team, after a Summer vacation retreat, in which he spent time fishing in Alaska, it would appear as though the Vikings are ready finalize their Quarterback situation, for the 2009 NFL Season.
Right now, the Vikings feature Quarterbacks Tavaris Jackson, and Sage Rosenfels, who are the sole competitors for the Vikings starting Quarterback job. Should Favre return, he would catapult over Jackson, and Rosenfels, to the number one spot on the Quarterback depth chart. Stay posted, as the Brett Favre un-retirement announcement is rumored to be happening early next week.
