Any football fan knows the name Anquan Boldin for his dominating skills at the wide receiver position, but his hometown Pahokee, Florida knows him for his generosity. The Arizona Cardinal receiver is having a stadium named after him at Pahokee Middle and High School, the school which he attended.
August is when they expect to open the stadium and will hold various sports, events, and games for the school. There is going to be an opening ceremony for the stadium at which Boldin himself will be honored. The School Advisory Committee has a great deal of respect for Anquan, who has given many donations to the football program over the years. Boldin has always loved his hometown, even in college when he went to Florida State, keeping him close to home. In April Boldin was given the Distinguished Service award and was also awarded a Key To The City for his donations as well as making many extra curricular programs for the area's youths. Anquan also comes back every year for an annual event, the Q-fest Weekend, a weekend in which everyone is to come together and help raise money for the community.
Anquan shows the same passion on the field as he does for his hometown of Pahokee. He has a big heart when it comes to the youth of the community and is a major role model for the whole Pahokee, central, and southern Florida youth community. Emphasising the need for them to be active in after school programs and sports helps keep them from going towards the bad elements of south Florida. It is nice to see a star athlete taking time and giving back to the community that he was raised in. Boldin is in the prime of his career and hopefully will be able to keep his level of intensity, which would hopefully bring to be a Hall of Famer.
