The Giants almost had 100 yards rushing in the first quarter. Bucs had 10 total yards at half.
The Giants needed a late drive to stun the Dallas Cowboys last week in front of an NFL-record crowd last Sunday night. In front of far-fewer fans, the Giants needed far-fewer heroics to pick up their third win of the season.
New York had almost 100 yards rushing in the first quarter en route to a 24-0 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs had 10 total yards in the entire first half. The Giants ran 40 plays while the Bucs only called 14 in the first half.
Eli Manning had two touchdown passes and Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs were key to a 226 yard rushing performance by the Giants. The Bucs finished with only 86 yards on the night and didn't get a first down until the third quarter. They had a chance to avoid the shutout, driving down to the Giants five-yard line. But they couldn't punch the ball through and were stopped on downs with five minutes left in the game.
Jacobs starting the scoring in the first quarter when he capped off a 12-play drive with a 6-yard touchdown run. On the first play of the second quarter, Manning picked up his first score when he hit Steve Smith from four yards out to make it 14-0. It put the Bucs behind for the third time this season.
