Brian Westbrook Back & Ready To Contribute To Philadelphia Eagles

NFL News - November 14th, 2009 - Written by Jimmy

westbrookIt appears as though the Philadelphia Eagles will have Brian Westbrook back for their Sunday matchup against the San Diego Chargers.

Westbrook had missed the previous two games after a concussion he suffered in the first half in a Monday Night Football game against the Washington Redskins. In that game, Westbrook took a knee to the helmet while being tackled on a run.

"I'm feeling a lot better," Westbrook said. "I'm ready to go."

At times this year, Westbrook has been bothered by a sore ankle. The extra rest should have allowed Westbrook to recover from all previous injuries.

On the official NFL Week 10 Injury Reports, Westbrook is listed as probable. Technically that means Westbrook is at 75% to play.

All doubt of whether Westbrook will play or not was eliminated when Eagles' head coach Andy Reid was asked about Westbrook's status. Reid simply said "playing."

When Westbrook was playing, he was already splitting time with Eagles' second round pick LeSean McCoy.

When asked about Wesbrook's playing time, Andy Reid said "He'll continue to rotate, and we'll just see how he does, I'm not going to just throw him in for the whole game."

Also on the Philadelphia Eagles' Injury Report are several other players. Out: WR Kevin Curtis (knee) and LB Akeem Jordan (knee) Questionable: LT Jason Peters (ankle)

As for what these injuries have done to the NFL Week 10 Betting Lines. When this game opened in the Las Vegas Sportsbooks, the Chargers were favored by 2 1/2 points, but since then, the line has moved to Chargers -1. Several online sportsbooks including BetUS have this game listed at -1.

Sports bettors will have up until minutes before kickoff to wager on this game and others. By then, the official game time decisions should have been made unless something happens during warmups.
