The Philadelphia Eagles barley made it to the playoffs in 2008, but once in the playoffs they made it all the way to the NFC Conference championship game. The Eagles are looking forward to making a run at the Super Bowl in 2009, and they have a strong returning number of players to accomplish the goal. The most important returning player is of course starting quarterback Donovan McNabb, McNabb is 100% healthy and the key to the Eagles success. The Eagles also have the electric big play ability of running back Brian Westbrook in 2009, not to mention head coach Andy Reed is coming back for his 11th season with the franchise. The Eagles also created some controversy when they signed quarterback Michael Vick to a two year contract. Vick will not be eligible to play in the first half of the regular season, but he could prove to play a major factor once his suspension is raised. The Eagles did lose a key player on the defensive side of the football, in Captain, and strong safety Brian Dawkins, Dawkins was released after an injury in the regular season last year. The Eagles should have trouble in the secondary this year, but their offense will keep them in games all season long.
