Roger Federer & Serena Williams Lead Field Going Into 2009 U.S. Open

Starting on August 31st, 2009 and running until the championships on September 13th, 2009, the U.S. Open continually attracts more visitors each year. In 2008, over 720,000 fans packed the stands, over the duration of the tournament, to see Roger Federer win the men's side, while Serena Williams dominated the women, and this year promises to be better than ever.

Until the Men's and Women's draws are announced on Thursday, there is no way of knowing what the road to the title will look like for many of the top ranked players in the world. Currently, the U.S. Open is in the qualifying stages, and once complete, the field for the 42nd U.S. Open will be set.
