Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren have been relatively tight-lipped about the whole scandal thing in which Woods admitted to certain "transgressions" and "sins" in his past.
But that doesn't keep his co-workers from chirping and online sportsbooks from posting odds on Tiger Woods, and we are not talking about Golf Betting Odds. Amid the swirl of opinions, and criticisms in the media, golfer Jesper Parnevik made a few of the most candid remarks to-date.
"I'm kind of filled with sorrow for Elin since me and my wife are at fault for hooking her up with him," he said. "We thought he was a better guy than he is."
True, Parnevik is on record as being the one that set Woods up with his wife after Nordegren was apparently his family's babysitter. They are both from Sweden and have been close for some time. But he continued to contend that he feels a little sheepish about being the matchmaker of a relationship that has quickly gone sour.
Nordegren soon married Woods in 2004 and the couple have two children together. But their nuptials were rocked recently when several women entered the spotlight as supposed mistresses to the famed golfer, and one of the debutantes has proof. In a recent report by US Weekly, Jaimee Grubbs released a voice message from Woods asking her to take her name off her voicemail greeting because his wife would soon be calling to check up on suspicious numbers. He also apparently wrote over 300 dirty text messages.
It is speculated that Woods' recent car crash was the result of Nordegren attacking chasing him with a golf club when she found out about his affairs.
Parnevick said he hopes she "uses a driver next time instead of a 3 iron."
"I would probably have to apologize to her," Parenevik said, adding a pun about his Nike sponsor. "Maybe just don't do it."
