This Saturday's UFC 100 is the most loaded fight card in UFC history. There is more hype leading up to this weekend's fights than ever before in the UFC. This fight card is so packed that there are three fights scheduled that each could be the Main Event of any fight card. The show is such a hot ticket that the event had been announced as sold out even before the tickets had been offered to the general public.
The highly anticipated Main Event is a rematch between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. Lesnar is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion while Mir currently holds the UFC Interim Heavyweight Title. Brock Lesnar has taken the UFC by storm and has quickly created a huge following. His huge stature makes him a fan favorite as he towers over all of his opponents. In Lesnar's UFC debut he faced Mir at UFC 81. Brock was controlling the fight and quickly showed how much power he possesses. He had landed some brutal punches and was looking like he had the fight won quite easily. Mir used his experience to get a leg hold and for Lesnar to tap out. This weekend's rematch will be a very exciting fight with Lesnar looking to get revenge for his earlier defeat.
The co-main event features George St. Pierre taking on Thiavo Alves. Both are physical specimens and this sets up to be an amazing fight. Pierre is a world class wrestler and often trains with the Canadian Olympic Wrestling Team. Alves is a world class Muay Thai fighter. Pierrre has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting fighters in MMA today. He is a well rounded fighter but will get the toughest test of his career when he takes on Alves. This is a title fight as Pierre is the current Welterweight Champion. This sets up to be a brutal hard fought match which could end of being the best fight of the night.
The third fight on the card is a match up of the two current Season 9 coaches of the Ultimate Fighter show on Spike. The Team USA coach Dan Henderson will do battle with the Team UK coach Michal Bisbing. Bisbing had been talking a lot of smack on the show and also had a few choice words to say about his upcoming opponent. Henderson is a much more experienced fighter and is a former Olympic Greco Roman Wrestler. He is known for his heavy hands and a rock hard chin. Bisbing is a young 18-1 fighter who is undefeated as Middleweight. There is definite bad blood between these two which will make for an awesome fight. Whichever fights wins this Saturday night will earn a title shot and fight the current Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in their next fight. These three fights each set up to epic battles and make UFC 100 the most anticipated night in UFC history.
