New Zealand's Logan Campbell, a kickboxer, is ready for the 2012 Olympics and his brothel will help him pay for it. In Beijing he was knocked out in the first round and is ready to show everyone how much he has improved since his performance in the 2008 Olympics. Six years ago New Zealand decriminalized prostitution. They say that since the decriminalization they have seen more positives than negatives.
Campbell's plan is to pay for his coach and a doctor to travel with him. His parents covered most of his bills in the 2008 Olypmics. He plans to practice in Europe and Asia before the 2012 Olympics, which will be held in London. Campbell's goal is to raise $200,000 dollars. He has over a dozen girls that give him half of their income from prostitution.
The rates for prostitutes in New Zealand are roughly $325 U.S. dollars for 2 hours with a lovely lady. He would have to see just shy of 1,300 cleints enter his brothel to raise the $200,000 dollars, assuming he continuously receives half of what the employees make. He provides security, advertising, drivers and even condoms for the ladies. He has said he would feel worse if he was selling cigarettes. Naturally, with these expenses he would probably have to see twice that revolve through his establishment.
The International Olympic Committee is not totally content with his methods, as they feel he may be a poor role model for the children. The Committee is considering not allowing him to participate in the 2012 Olympics, saying there are many of other people struggling to financially to make it to the Olympics but they are not looking to prostitution, nor other morally questionable acts, to raise their money.
