The Masters
The Masters began back when Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts had a vision, in which they would construct a golf course unlike any before, to hold an annual tournament. Upon finding a 365-acre piece of land in Augusta, Georgia that was ideal for the setting, the two hired course architect Allister MacKenzie to engineer their dream. The process began in 1931 and was completed in 1933. The first ever "Augusta National Invitation" tournament was held in 1934. Today, The Masters Tournament is widely considered one of the greatest golf tournaments in the world, and has been dubbed "A Tradition Unlike Any Other."
