The teams comprising the NFC North Division are the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are coming off a 2008 season in which they won the division with a 10-6 record. Finishing one game back was the Chicago Bears who ended the season with a record of 9-7. The Green Bay Packers had a disappointing season last year finishing at 6-10. And the Detroit Lions became the first NFL team to ever finish a regular season at 0-16. For the 2009 season the Detroit Lions have the division's toughest schedule with the Chicago Bears having the NFL's easiest schedule.

Some of the marquee games in the NFC North in 2009 season are in Week 4 when Green Bay visits Minnesota and in Week 8 when the teams meet again this time at Green Bay. The Vikings host the Bears in Week 12 and then the two teams meet again in Week 16 when they square off at Chicago. The Minnesota Vikings will once again win the division in 2009 when they finish with an 11-5 record. Finishing two games back will be the Chicago Bears at 9-7. The Packers will finish at .500 at 8-8. Detroit will not go winless this year but will finish the season well back with a record of 4-12.

2009 Minnesota Vikings NFC North Preview Minnesota Vikings - Solid play from the QB position was the only thing preventing the Vikings from being an elite team in 2008. They have one the NFL's best defenses and arguably the best RB in the league with the dynamic Adrian Peterson. There has been rumors swirling about Brett Favre coming out of retirement to play for the Vikings. From the looks of it this seems to be the case and he will fill the void that Minnesota had at Quarterback in 2008. No matter who is under center they just need to control the ball and be able to make enough plays in the passing game to score enough points to go along with their excellent defense. Minnesota will be the NFC North's top team in 2009 when they end the season with a 11-5 record.

2009 Chicago Bears 49ers NFC North Preview Chicago Bears - The Bears made a major offseason acquisition when they traded for Denver QB Jay Cutler. Chicago fans are excited to see what Cutler can bring to a team who has been searching for a franchise Quarterback. The offense will be better with the Cutler at the helm but without enough weapons to throw the ball to Chicago is still a season or two away from being a contender. The Chicago defense will have a better year this year with the return of healthy Nathan Vashar and Mike Brown in the secondary. The Bears will finish in 2nd place in the NFC North with a 9-7 record.

2009 Green Bay Packers NFC North PreviewGreen Bay Packers - QB Aaron Rodgers is coming into his 2nd full year as the Packers starting Quarterback. He has solid Wide Receivers to throw to in Greg Jennings and Donald Driver. Ryan Grant will have some success this year but will struggle towards the end of the season. The Packers have a young defense and though talented will have to wait a year for them to be a consistent unit. Green Bay will play well for most of the year before stumbling down the stretch. They will finish the 2009 season with an 8-8 record.

2009 Detroit Lions NFC North PreviewDetroit Lions - The Lions are coming off the worst season of any team in NFL history when they went winless a season ago finishing at 0-16. The only bright spot is that this allowed them to select QB Matthew Stafford with the #1 pick of this years draft. The Lions have landed their franchise QB who will help turn this team around. Detroit will have to wait a few years for this to happen as they will struggle again in 2009. They have some talent on offense especially star WR Calvin Johnson who is making a name for himself as one of the leagues best at this position. New Head Coach Jim Schwartz will bring a defensive mentality to this club and should help improve a defense who struggled a year ago. Detroit is going to have to wait a few years to be relevant in the division and will go 4-12 in 2009.
