NFL News - July 3, 2009 - Written by Ryan Smith
Terrel Owens begins the 2009 season on his 4th NFL football team The Buffalo Bills. Most sports critics think the Bills made a foolish decision signing T.O. even at the length of his one year contract. It's believed that Owens antics cause such a disruption in NFL looker rooms, that no team can survive an entire season with out some kind of controversy.
The Bills Management however begs to differ, Sense the signing of Terrell Owens in the off season Buffalo Bills season ticket purchases are surpassing last years sales already. The Buffalo news reported earlier in the month that, the Bills have sold more than 50,000 season tickets already. Last years total of season tickets sold were a comfertable 56,011. The Bills hope to surpass this number with two months of sales still left before opening day kick off. The all time record for season tickets sold in Buffalo Bills history, came in 1992 at a total of 57,132.
If the Bills can surpass the 1992 numbers in season tickets sales, credit is without a doubt owed to Terrell Owens. Owens has become a fan favorite in the NFL for a long time now and, the Bills are beginning to feel just that. Merchandise sales are expected to go up this year too, as Terrell Owens has always been in the top of the league in jersey sales. Now Bills execs hope Terrell Owens can add this same type of improvement to the Bills offense, as he did with their ticket sales.
