The 2009 NFL season week 16 preview showcases a slew of important games for both the NFC and the AFC. Starting with the AFC, week 16 of the 2009 NFL season the Baltimore Ravens visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in what could be a crucial win for either team. The Ravens lost to the Steelers in both meetings last year. In week 4 the Ravens lost 23 to 20 at home in overtime against the Steelers and, in week 15 the Steelers defeated the Ravens 13 to 9 with just seconds on the clock in what was one of the most controversial plays all season, as Santonio Holmes caught a pass on the goal line with his feet in the end zone but, the ball out of the end zone. The play was further reviewed and a touchdown given to the Steelers, to win the game. The Ravens get a shot at redemption this year in this 2009 NFL season week 16 match up but, can they pull off the victory?
The Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins watched the playoffs at home last year and both plan on making a run at the playoffs this year. The Cowboys made huge moves in the off season by cleaning house, cutting the contracts of super stars, safety Roy Williams and wide receiver Terrell Owens. The Cowboys believe these moves will bring about a better chemistry to the team. The Redskins took the opposite approach to the off season signing players instead of releasing them. The Redskins acquired a big name and a run stopper in nose tackle Albert Haynesworth, the redskins believe he is one of the last needed pieces for success. The Cowboys ended the 2008 season with two consecutive losses in week 16 and week 17. Will The Cowboys continue this trend in 2009 with a loss in week 16 against the Washington Redskins.
