2009 NFL Week 12 Previews starts with the Thursday games. Thanksgiving falls on the 26th of November this season and into week 12 of the NFL 2009 season. The two traditional Thanksgiving day teams are the Cowboys and the Lions. The Lions host division rival Green Bay Packers for the 12:30 pm game, and first round rookie quarterback Matt Stafford should be the starting quarterback for the lions by this time. The Lions hope Stafford can bring a change to their Thanksgiving day success, the Lions have lost the last 5 years in a row on Thanksgiving day, however their last Thanksgiving day win came in 2003 against the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys take it easy during the Thanksgiving day weekend hosting the Oakland Raiders, The Cowboys should be running on all cylinders by week 12 which could mean problems for the young Raiders organization. The last game scheduled for Thanksgiving is the Giants at Denver in mile high stadium.
Last years week 12 news came in the form of New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel. Cassel and the Patriots visited Miami for a game against the Dolphins, and a game it was. Cassel passed for 415 yards and three touchdowns passes all to stud wide out Randy Moss. The Patriots walked all over the Dolphins with a final score of 48 to 28. This game putt Matt Cassel on the map as one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Cassel is on the Kansas City Chiefs this year, and plays the San Diego Chargers in San Diego in week 12 of the 2009 NFL season. Will Matt Cassel mimic his performance of last years week 12 match up, or fall under the radar on his new team?
