2010 New England Patriots | 2010 NFL Team Reports
With the return of a healthy Tom Brady, the New England Patriots have Super Bowl aspirations for the 2009 NFL Season. The Patriots finished last season at 11-5 but ended up missing out on the playoffs for the first time since all the way back in 2002. In the first game of the 2008 NFL season, Tom Brady got hurt and missed the rest of the year due to injury. New England played well without him but failed to win the AFC East division for the first time in six seasons. Brady will return to an explosive offense that features the always dangerous Randy Moss. The last year that these two played together they both ended up having record breaking seasons. Back in 2007, Moss caught an amazing 23 touchdowns and Brady finished with a ridiculous 50 touchdown passes, both of which set NFL records. Along with Moss, New England has another dynamic receiver in Wes Welker. Welker has the two highest single season reception totals in Patriots history. They added Fred Taylor this off season, which should give New England a big boost in the running game. On defense, New England will have a talented unit with a few new faces mixed in this season. If they can hold up defensively, the Patriots will be a tough team to deal with in 2009. With so much talent on both sides of the ball, sportsbooks have New England as the betting favorite to win the Super Bowl this year. Be sure to check out our 2009 New England Patriots Team Report.
