2010 New England Patriots Schedule | 2010 NFL Team Schedules
It has been two years since the 18-1 season for the Patriots and morale may still be low. The 2008 season was not a great one for the Patriots and if they have any hope to turn it around in 2009, they will have to lift spirits and push on. The AFC is one of the more challenging conferences, and the Eastern division compounds the problem. The Patriots went to 11-5 in 2008, while not horrible, will not be bringing them to the Super Bowl. The Patriots have a fresh season and a clean slate - a hard battle may improve their skill or impoverish their record. An added bonus for the Patriots will be the return of Tom Brady. In Week 1, of the 2008 season, Tom Brady was gone for the year, after only playing a little over a quarter against Kansas City. Brady's knee was ripped to shreds, as were the Patriots' chances of returning to the Super Bowl.
The 2009 New England Patriots schedule begins, in Week 1 with the Bills meeting the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. This will be the first Monday Night Football game of 2009, which will give the 2009 Patriots an ample opportunity to showcase their football team. In Week 2, the New England Patriots will be facing their most hated of enemies - the New York Jets. The Jets have been a main rival against the Pats especially since the "Spygate" scandal, and there has been a great deal of defections from each team to the other. The Patriots will travel to New York on September 20th. In Week 4, the Patriots face a tough test, as they take on the Baltimore Ravens, in New England. Two weeks later, the Tennessee Titans will travel to Gillette Stadium, to visit the Patriots, in Week 6. The 8th week grants the Patriots a Bye, and then play resumes with the Dolphins paying the Patriots a visit, in what is sure to be an important divisional game, in Week 9. Week 10 should be a dandy, as it pits the Patriots traveling to Indianapolis, to face to Colts. This seemingly annual matchup is always a pivotal game for both teams. The New York Jets will face the Patriots, in Week 11, in Foxboro, bringing a fierce rivalry back into the forefront. The final Monday Night Football game of the year, for the Patriots, has them traveling to New Orleans, to take on the Saints, in Week 12. Next for the Patriots waits the dangerous Miami Dolphins, which will feature the Patriots, on the road, in Week 13. The Patriots final divisional game comes in Week 15, as the Patriots go to Buffalo, to square off against the Bills. Rounding out the season will be the Houston Texans. In Week 17, the Patriots go on the road, to finish the regular season, before hopefully returning to the playoffs.
The Patriots' games all take place on Sundays this season, as shown on our New England Patriots 2009 Schedule, with the exception of two Monday Night games. Monday is usually a horrible day of the week, but NFL fans always have something special to look forward to, it takes the edge off what was surely a hectic Monday. The Patriots' first preseason game kicks off on August 13th, 2009 as they will face the Philadelphia Eagles, from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
2009 New England Patriots Playoff Schedule
Though the Patriots were unable to secure a first round bye in the playoffs, they will still look to add to their Super Bowl total as they've never been afraid of extra work. The 2009 New England Patriots Schedule really tested them, however New England was still able to win the AFC East and finish with a record of 10-6. Up first for the Patriots in the 2009 NFL Playoffs are the very dangerous, defensive minded Baltimore Ravens.
