The 2009 Tennessee Titans Season Preview looks bright, the Titans are coming off of a year that gave them the best record during the regular season and got knocked out of the playoffs in the first round. They had a strong defense lead by Albert Haynesworth who said show me the money and left for the Redskins. They were lacking some receivers to add to the 2009 Tennessee Titans powerful running game.. They picked up a good receiver in free agency in Nate Washington and drafted Kenny Britt with the 30th pick to give some more targets for Kerry Collins. Hopefully they can all keep their composure and there won't be any freak outs by Vince Young. The Defensive Coordinator from last year is now the head coach of the Detroit Lions.

2009 Tennessee Titans NFL DraftThey may have took Kenny Britt a little earlier in the 2009 Titans NFL Draft than everyone thought, but they were in major need of some help in the receiver position. Don’t expect this guy to take Haynesworths’ spot right away, but Sen’Derrick Marks is a solid defensive tackle that will be their future. They got a steal with Jared Cook when he was still available when they had their third pick.
2009 Tennessee Titans QuarterbacksKerry Collins is definitely a veteran and as long as he can get a pocket around him there should be no problem. It helps the 2009 Tennessee Titans Quarterbacks to have two good running backs to hand off to. Vince Young has the back up job, but has said if he does not get playing time he would look for someone who is ready to use him. The Titans also went out and picked up free agent Patrick Ramsey this off season to help out if needed.

One spot that they are very deep at is the position for the 2009 Tennessee Titans Running Backs, with the amazing rookie year out of Chris Johnson. Johnson came out of nowhere to take the starting job last year. Then they have the big bruiser LenDale White who is tough to get down and is excellent at the goal line. Last year Chris Henry also got some touches, he is there speed guy. The Titans also drafted Javon Ringer who had a great college career at Michigan State.
2009 Tennessee Titans Wide ReceiversThe Titans have always had a lack of dominate receivers, they never went out to draft any stud receivers and it shows. They may have got their answer for the 2009 Tennessee Rams Wide Recievers in free agent pick up Nate Washington, who showed he has the ability to get free for some long catches last year with the Steelers. They drafted a receiver with their first pick, Kenny Britt out of Rutgers can hopefully be some instant relief for the receivers. Justin Gage will be the returning receiver to help teach the system to the new guys. They are strong at Tight End with Alge Crumpler, Bo Scaife, and rookie Jared Cook.
2009 Tennessee Titans Offensive LineThe Titans have all five starters returning, they only allowed Collins to get sacked eight times and the running backs ran for 2,199 yards last season. The leader of the group is 15 year veteran Kevin Mawae as center. The two 2009 Tennessee Titans Offensive Line tackles are Michael Roos and David Stewart. While Eugene Amano and Jake Scott round out the starting offensive line at the guard postion.

Haynesworths’ lose will see a number of guys take over his role as the big guy in the middle. They went out and picked up Javon Haye, drafted Sen’Derrick Marks, while Jason Jones should hold down the starting role in the 2009 Tennessee Titans Defensive Line. The ends are going to be Kyle Von Bosch on one end while Javon Kearse and Jacob Ford splitting time on the other side.

The 2009 Tennessee Titans Linebackers are pretty much set in stone already, and looks to be the same as last season. The leader is Keith Bullock who has been the anchor for the linebackers for a while. Dave Thornton is the youngest and has the most to learn out of the three. Middle linebacker will have Stephen Tulloh in that spot.
2009 Tennessee Titans SecondaryAs far as the 2009 Tennessee Titans Secondary, they are going to add a new wrinkle to the defense with a dime back position that should be a fierce battle between Ryan Mouton and Jason McCourty. The cornerbacks are the same as last year and the Titans are thrilled with that. Corners Cortland Finnegan, who was a pro bowler last season, and opposite of him will be Nick Harper. Safeties Chris Hope and Michael Griffin are the guys who are supposed to be stopping any big play from happening.
