Things are going to have to go better in their 2009 Buffalo Bills Season than the 7-9 record that they have had the last three years. Coach Dick Juron has to try to build a better relationship with the Bills fans, the owner Ralph Wilson gave him a contract extension during the season last year. The 2009 Buffallo Bills Season Preview is hopeful, they have helped their receiving core this year by adding the controversial Terrell Owens. He has shown that he is a dominate player if he can get along with his quarterback and fellow offensive players. That move should have a big impact for long tome Bills receiver Lee Evans, who has seen double coverage a lot the past couple of seasons. They have a pretty good set of backs to help keep the defenders on their toes, they can run the ball and are very effective in short dump off passes. The Bills gave up on Jason Peters and decided to trade him to Philadelphia. They did not go out and find a replacement for him this season. the offense should have some major improvements from last year, where as for the defense it could be a tough year if they don't get a grasp of the system this season.

2009 Buffalo Bills Free Agency And Trades
2009 Buffalo Bills NFL DraftThe defensive problems have been addressed in their first selection in the 2009 Buffalo Bills NFL Draft, Aaron Maybin, who is a good run stopping defensive end. He is not known for his passing defense, but with a little bit of time and experience they believe he can do it all. Next they chose to help the middle of the the offensive line and selected center Eric Woods from Louisville, he had a great senior year to help him become a first round selection. Buffalo brought in a defensive back with Jarius Byrd who is very aggressive and loves to get the opportunity to lay out anyone with the ball. He played corner in college, but don't be surprised if the Bills use him in the safety position.
2009 Buffalo Bills QuarterbacksThe Bills have made it clear that they have Trent Edwards as the future quarterback for the franchise for years to come. He showed some good decision making during his 2009 season, should be happy with the new weapon Terrell Owens. They both only have good things to say about each other and have been working close this off season. Trent showed last year that Lee Evans and him are on the same page and will work together wonderfully as the 2009 Buffalo Bills Quarterbacks. If the offensive line can keep Edwards upright and healthy this could be a spectacular year for Trent. During the off season they lost J.P. Losman and went right and picked up Ryan Fitzpatrick to fill the void at back up quarterback. Third string position is between Matt Baker and Gibran Hamden who will only see time during preseason if the Bills could have it their way.
2009 Buffalo Bills Running BacksThe 2009 Buffalo Bills Running Backs are some of the teams strongest positions, Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson had excellent years. The tandem lead the NFL in receptions from the running back position, last season Lynch had to miss the first three games due to gun charges, he has put that behind him and is ready for the ground and pound part of the Bills offense this year. Marshawn will be the starter with Jackson filling the back up job. Buffalo went out and got some more depth in running back by picking up free agent Dominic Rhodes, from the Indianapolis Colts, who will be available for any situation that the Bills could use him in. All three backs have shown they all can produce yards in many different ways. Should they be able to open thing up on the ground, it could make things a lot easier for Trent Edwards and Terrell Owens to hook up.
2009 Buffalo Bills Wide ReceiversLee Evans has been the go to receiver for quite a while in Buffalo, almost every week he was double teamed numerous times per game. They made a big decision about their choices for the 2009 Buffalo Bills Wide Receivers and went out to get Terrell Owens who was let go by the Cowboys this off season. Owens is a physical long ball receiver who will make life much easier for Lee and Edwards. The Bills should have the defenses on their toes anytime the receivers go out for some catches. Owens received a one year contract and needs to try to clean up his image to bring up his own stock before next offseason when he will be a free agent. Starting at the slot receiver will be Josh Reed who can produce if he can focus on the position, cause he has been the number 2 receiver the past couple years. James Hardy is expected to be the next receiver in when someone needs a break. The future at tight end will be big and speedy Shawn Nelson which they picked up in the fourth round, but until he is ready the starting spot will be a battle between Dereck Schouman and Dereck Fine.
2009 Buffalo Bills Offensive LineThe Bills have to replace a big part of the line when they were not prepared to give him the contract he deserved they dealed him to Philedelphia. They think they have an in house answer for the 2009 Buffalo Bills Offensive Line in Langston Walker who was right tackle last year and will make the move to left for Brad Butler to play at right tackle. The Bills also need to replace Derrick Dockery who was a veteran to who they parted ways with. They used their second pick to select Louisvilles' center Eric Wood, but will move him to left guard to replace Dockery. They will be young at guard cause projected starter at right guard will be rookie Andy Levitre. They went out and got their starting center Geoff Hangartner, who started at Carolina the past couple years.
2009 Buffalo Bills Defensive Line
This defense last year only produced 24 sacks and were amongst the worst at getting pressure on the quarterback, so for the 2009 Buffalo Bills Defensive Line they used their first draft pick this year on Aaron Maybin out of Penn State, who was a big pass rushing defensive end. He should be able to make immediate playing time to help get the pressure on that they really needed. Chris Kelsay is expected to help out at left end to help out Maybin. Aaron Schobel is hopefully going to stay healthy this year after missing 11 games last year. He should the other end to get them back to getting some pressure on the quarterback. Marcus Stroud was a good pick up last year and got an extension on his contract, Kyle Williams will start at the tackle position opposite of Stroud.
2009 Buffalo Bills LinebackersThere are high expectations out of the 2009 Buffalo Bills Linebackers, especially Paul Posluszny who has not been everything they thought they were going to get with his first two years. This year is going to determine his future with Buffalo, so the pressure is all on his shoulders. The one part of the linebacking core that they were pleased with was Kawika Mitchell, he forced turnovers of all kinds last season. Keith Ellison had a less than stellar year last season jumping from starter to backup all season long. This year they bring in free agent Pat Thomas and move rookie Nic Harris to the outside linebacker from the corner position, to challenge Ellison for the spot.
2009 Buffalo Bills SecondaryThe corner position is one that Buffalo is pretty solid on seeing as they were pleased with the performance they got out of last years first round pick Leodis McKelvin, who will regain his starting corner spot as a 2009 Buffalo Bills Secondary. Terrance McGee is pretty dependable on the other corner position, but they have two guys ready to challenge for some playing time. They signed Drayton Florence to be the slot corner, and he will get challenged by Ashton Youboty. Safeties got as many interceptions as i had last year, none. So the Bills went out and drafted Jarius Byrd, who had 17 interceptions at Oregon, should be the starting free safety. The other starting safety will be Donte Whitner who showed that he can be versatile, they also still have Byran Scott to get some time when someone needs a breather at safety.
