The Jacksonville Jaguars enter the 2009 season looking to rite the ship, and return their playoff form, of 2007. Unfortunately for the Jaguars and the 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars schedule, they reside in one of the toughest divisions, in the NFL, the AFC South. With teams such as the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, and the Houston Texans, the Jaguars will have their work cut out for them in trying to win their division, which is the only sure fire way for the Jaguars, to make the playoffs.

Looking at the 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars schedule, their feet are going to be put right to the fire, with a Week 1 showdown, in Indianapolis, against the Colts, September 13th, 2009. It doesn't get any easier, in Week 2, as the Jaguars return home, to face the defending NFC Champions, Arizona Cardinals, on September 20th. The next two weeks feature division games, at the Houston Texans, in Week 3, and Week 4 sees the Tennessee Titans coming into Jacksonville. After a bye, in Week 7, the Jaguars travel to Tennessee, to face the Titans, in Week 8, November 1st. Starting in Week 13, the Jaguars have 3 home games in a row, which starts with the Houston Texans on December 6th, then the Miami Dolphins on December 13th, and finally ends with the Indianapolis Colts, on Thursday, December 17th. After that, the Jaguars take a 10 day break, for Christmas, before traveling to New England, to face the Patriots, in Week 16, on December 27th. The 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars Regular Season Schedule comes to a close, in Week 17, as they visit the Cleveland Browns on January 3rd, 2010.

Outside of the Jaguars' divisional opponents, they only have a few key non-conference, non-divisional games. Games against the Arizona Cardinals, the Miami Dolphins, and the New England Patriots, are among the toughest foes Jacksonville will face outside of their division. With this schedule, the Jaguars are going to need to be much improved, on both sides of the ball. Coming off a 5-11 season, there is much room for improvement, and looking at the 2009 Schedule for the Jacksonville Jaguars, it looks as though they should be able to beat last year's total.
